Skadden is more prestigous. They both pay very well.

Wachtel is more lucrative.
If you ignore other firms which might get a one-shot contingency fee award in a particular year, Wachtel has had the highest profits per partner of any firm for a number of years.
You didn’t ask, but in the more subjective area of prestige, I think most would consider Wachtel considerably more prestigous than Skadden, though other firms (Cravath, Davis Polk, etc.) would outrank both of them on that scorecard.
