but opted to go and work as a community worker for twenty thousand dollars a year?
Love the confused comments put in by the Republicans.
Boys its getting even funnier, specially Okay OK and repeatedly suspended. Obama did an intership where he met Michelle, did not actually work there. And Mr. OkayOk, you are the ignorant one. Obama finished at the TOP of his class. get your facts right.
Obama graduated at the top of his Harvard Law class, why did he not join a wall street law firm?

community work looks better on a political resume.

Obama grew up poor
I don’t think he would fit in too well on wall street.

He’d have to work harder.

Because he loves the citizens of this country.
Being a serviceman isn’t the ONLY way one shows love for his country.

How would any of us mere mortals know that?

Yeah, I wish the firm (if it exists) who offered Obama the job would come forward. But I suspect there is no firm. It’s just a good story.

Because his diploma was affirmative action fake, and nobody would hire illiterate lawyer unable to speak without teleprompter.

Perhaps all of the major law firms EEO quotas had already been satisfied, or more likely, Obama recognized that a political career was less effort and afforded the opportunity for far greater power.

Because not everyone wants to work just for money.
He wanted to do meaningful work and he did.
No amount of money can equal peace of mind.

It’s called “Giving back to the community”
Something McCain supporters know nothing about.

Apparently Obama’s history of drug use disqualified him for an entry position in a prestigious law firm.

Because he is a good man, more interested in peoples welfare.

It’s called being a good American. I wish MORE people would give it a try instead of just giving lip service to causes they claim to believe in!

Obama did work for a major law firm in Chicago (This is where he met Michelle), but he was not considered partner material. He had political ambitions, and a brief stint as community organizer seemed like a good route for that.

You’re wrong.
He graduated magna come laude (had to misspell the middle word of the phrase as the morons who run this site are children).
Read the source if you wish to be educated as to what it means to graduate magna come laude (THERE I go again!) at the oh, so prestigious Harvard Law School.
If you choose not to read the source, then I’ll do it for you:
“Students who graduate with a general average of 7.20 and above are honored with the distinction of graduating summa cum laude. The top 10% of the class, excluding summa, are honored with the distinction of graduating magna cum laude.”
Mr. Perfect DID NOT graduate summa come laude; therefore, he DID NOT graduate at the top of his class.
Get your facts straight next time and you’ll be taken more seriously. Seriously.
P.S. Confused? Honey, I just unconfused YOU; enjoy it as it’s probably the last time you’ll be unconfused this month!

Maybe he couldn’t get hired by a Wall Street Law firm.
Did you do any research and see if that was possible?
Shoot me the link when you get the answer, genius.

Since you are an Obama supporter, you will give credit to what you want to believe. I see a few answers that are meant to be funny, but for the most part I see answers that are truthful enough to be given some creadance.
Me? I’m voting for “none of the above”. I’m not entirely impressed by either person. But to me Mc Cain looks to be the lesser of the two evils, and that isn’t by much. It also has nothing to do with skin color, but to me Obama sure seems to bring that up a lot.
