- Is it possible to work for legal aid AND a private law firm at the same time?
- Approx. what should my salary requirements be at a private law firm for part time work?
- If I hire a divorce attorney, can my husband hire another attorney from the same law firm?
- What is a Law Firm/What Type Of Work Happens at a Law Firm?
If I go work for a big law firm in another country based here in USA, will I receive the same salary?

Usually not. Most large international law firms base their salaries on market salaries in the country where their lawyers are located. This could be higher or lower than US salaries, but it is usually lower.
Here, you must distinguish between partners and associates. Associates are paid a salary, which depends on the prevailing salary for lawyers in the particular location where they work. In most instances, partners share in the worldwide profits of the firm, so their compensation will not directly depend on the partner’s location. A partner’s compensation may indirectly depend on where he/she is located because the share of profits will, to some extent, depend on the profitability of the particular partner’s practice. In some cases, there are special compensation arrangements for partners in other countries, either by agreement or the use of subpartnerships.
